IJMA and Types of IJma
- Ijma is derived from the word Jamee which means gathering or collection of a large number of people
- In terms of Islam, Ijma means consensus of opinion.
- Ijma is the consensus of the Muslims Ummah and it is applied when some problems cannot be solved (comprehend through Quran and Hadith).
- Prophet (S) said; "My Ummah will never unanimously agree upon an eror''

- Ijma is proved even from the life of the Holy Prophet (S) when he called the Companions to deal with the Quraish during the Battle of Uhad and the Battle of trench.
- It means to conduct Ijma is the Sunnah of Prophet (S) Types of Ijma
- Top Ijma is the one conducted by the Companions.
- The examples of Ijma by the Companions are the election of Hazrat Abu Bakr (R.A) as Caliph and the Compilation of the Holy Quran.
- Second quality Ijma is the one conducted by the religions scholars.
- The examples of this Ijma by the religious scholar are the compilation and the collection of Ahadith.
- The third category of Ijma is the one conducted by the jurists e.g the laws passed by the parliament.
