Teamwork

Man is a social animal who has, for thousands of years, been living in groups for the purpose of protection, feeling of togetherness, purpose of food etc.Even today, as we enter the 21st century, men prefer to work together in a group or as a team because they thrive well in their respective jobs.A man, no matter how talented or brilliant, cannot reach great heights without the help of his associates and friends.A man who has a team to back him up and support him often accomplishes great things. From software engineers who collaborate and write codes to football players playing in the field, teams are increasingly being used as the foundation of success and are rightfully considered the backbone of any organization.
Some of the finest examples of teamwork are found in sports.Great athletes have acknowledged that champions are won by great teams, not great individuals. As Babe Ruth once said,''The way a team plays as a whole determines it success. You may have the greatest bunch of the individuals stars in the world, but if they don't play together, the club won't be worth a dime.''While individuals skill and effort in sports is important, teamwork is paramount.
Teamwork has also become increasingly acknowledged as an essential skill for employees in enterprises.Today's increasingly global economy places a premium on
teamwork in the workplace. For companies that produce goods in one country and then transport, store and deliver them to customers in another country, teamwork is not simply important, it is crucial. One of the biggest advantages of working as a team in a company is having other people's ideas pooled together. Each member of the group has something unique that he can contribute.Teamwork has become so valued that many large corporations have developed specific tests to measure potential employees' teamwork abilities. Many companies are even acknowledged this in their job titles by changing the designation of supervisors or managers to ''team leaders''.
Teamwork in school work is just as important as teamwork in sports and business.Studies have shown that children who participate in team projects are more active and more motivated in class.Teamwork also decreases the work load on a child.
In today's society , with so much emphasis on personal achievement, the concept of teamwork seems to be old-fashioned or basic.Clashes of personality different perspectives and cultures prescribe one to develop a natural inclination toward individual work and an unhealthy reluctance towards team work.Nevertheless, teamwork, if managed property, can accomplish wonders. All that is required is a little compromise.
