Answer of Pollution means What is Pollution.
Population is the process by which harmful substances are added to the environment.Some causes of pollution are natural, for example , the volcanic eruptions or forest fires.However, most pollution is the result of human activities.( Pollution )
Pollution is the addition
Pollution is the addition of substances to the environmennt that damage it, making it undersirable or unfit for life.The substances that cause pollution are called pollutants.
Pollution has been a problem
Pollution has been a problem for humans for many years.As human population has become more serious.Many of the products of modern technology are toxic.These toxic wastes  find their way into the air and water , threatening the lives of organisms in the ecosystem.Therefore , the sources of pollution must be identified, and methods must be devised to prevent and reduce pollution.
Waste materials dumped into rivers and streams pollute the water and change the communities that live in habitats.In Singapore, before 1977, many of the rivers were so polluted that no fish could live in them.Since then the causes of water pollution have been identified , and tremendous efforts made to clean up the rivers.

Sewage
Waste matter from homes or industries is called sewage.Untreated sewage should not be discharged into nearby rivers or lakes as it may contain disease causing bacteria.If these bacteria get into drinking water, they may  affect a large number of people in the community with diseases such as cholera or typhoid.This is called an epidemic.

2. The organic wastes in sewage are a good source of food for bacteria.Bacteria grow and multiply rapidly , using up the oxygen in the  water.

4. Anaerobic bacteria, or bacteria  which do not require oxygen , then continue breaking  down the organic wastes.In the process , the anaerobic bacteria release bad smelling gases such as hydrogen sulphide and ammonia.
Untreated sewage contains phosphates and nitrates ,which are nutrients for algae and water plants.This can lead to eutorphication.
What is Eutrophication or means Eutrophication ?

  Chemical fertilisers containing nitrates and phosphates are used to increase the yield of crops.However , the overuse of these fertilisers may cay cause water pollution.
1. Fertilisers that are  not absorbed by crops may be washed a way by rainwater into nearby rivers or lakes.
2. Nitrates and phosphates in the fertilizers are useful nutrients for the growth of the algae and water plants.The enrichment of nutrients leads to the profuse growth and multiplication of algae and water plants in the river or lake.This is called n. or known as Eutrophication.( Eutrophication point two )
3. Submerged algae and plants die due to lack of sunlight.The dead bodies of the algae and water plants are decomposed by bacteria.Because grow and multiply rapidly, using up the oxygen in the water.( Eutrophication point three )
4. Other organisms such as fish die due to lack of oxygen.( Eutrophication point four )
Inorganic waster
Some industries dump large amounts of inorganic waste products into rivers or streams.These waste products may include poisonous metals such as mercury, lead, zinc , arsenic and cadmium.{ Eutrophication }
Insecticides
Insecticides are substance used to Kill insects.Because this is the study of insecticides.However , insecticides may end up affecting other organisms as well.For example , insecticides such as DDT (dichlorodiphenyltrichloroethane) are non-biodegrable.This means that they cannot be broken down by microorganisms like bacteria.They cannot be broken down by microorganisms like bacteria.They can remain in the soil or water for many years.Insecticides may be carried by rainwater into streams , river and lakes.In high concentrations , they may poison fish or animals that take in the polluted water or feed on the contaminated fish.
DDT is insoluble in water.It is not excreted , but instead is stored in the fatty tissues of organisms.Organisms  cannot break down DDT.Hence, DDT accumulates in the bodies of consumers.This results in the insecticides being passed along food chains, increasing in concentration in the bodies of organisms along the trophic level.This process is called bioamplification.
Organisms feeding at high.Levels in a food chain can accumulate huge amounts of DDT from eating their prey.DDT may not be poisonous to large organisms in small amounts but may not be poisonous to large organisms in small amounts but may be harmful in large amounts.Eventually , the concentration of DDT in the top consumers accumulates to the extent that the top consumers suffer toxic effects due to Bioaccumulation.
The events in Minamata that had led to people being poisoned by mercury are another example  of the harmful effects of bioaccumulation.( by Eachknowledge.blogspot.com )
